Neuschwanstein Castle Germany

The Neuschwanstein castle in Germany was opened to the public after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886. The king lived in the castle to withdraw from public life.

Neuschwanstein is very popular and is Germany's top tourist destination and is visited by 1.4 million people every year, around 6,000 visitors a day in summertime.

The castle is located above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in Bavaria.
