Many tourists visit the Bodensee each year and visit the various towns that are located at the lake. Get information at Konstanz (Constance) where you can explore the lake with boats. You can also enjoy the Lake Constance Thermal Spa in Constance that lies directly on the shore of the lake.

There are three major islands on the lake: Mainau island, Reichenau island and Lindau

In June 1999 there was a 100-year flood that raised the water level about 2 metres above normal, flooding harbors and many shoreline buildings and hotels.
