The currency of Germany is the Euro since the 1st January 1999, because Germany belongs to the European Union that uses the Euro. It is the second largest and second most traded currency in the world after the US$.
1 Euro is around 1,28417 US$ (estimated in June 2013).
There are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Euro banknotes available which all bear the EU flag and show themes of the European architecture.
