German Traditional Clothing
German traditional clothing called "Altdeutsche Tracht" ( "German National Costume" )started between 1813 and 1815 during the time of the "Befreiungskriege", the "liberation wars".
Anti-French German national sentiment expressed itself in this fashion that was followed by women and men throughout the country as a demonstration of resistance against the "French Fashion".
The most important color was black. This color was also used in uniforms at this time. This all went along with insubordinate behavior, scruffy hair and beard of young people. This fashion was very provokativ.
