Dresden is an interesting city and you should see it if you are a tourist in Germany. It was a city of East Germany before the wall fall. Dresden is the capital city of the State of Saxony and is situated at the River Elbe, near the Czech border.
It is a cultural city located in a beautiful environment. The people are friendly and they speak a german dialect. You have to get used to it, even when you go there as a German the dialect is very strong.
Many tourists visit Dresden every year as the city is full of cultur. There are many students and many bars with live music etc.
You can go for a trip to explore the environment and see the town Meissen and Rathen and the Elbsandsteingebirge (Saxon Switzerland).
You can also drive to Prag, which is just an hour away.
